Police: Kansas City student stabbed at school has died

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City police say a middle school student who was reportedly was stabbed by another student at school has died. Police identified the victim as 14-year-old Manuel J. Guzman. Police say the male suspect has been charged in juvenile court with murder, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Guzman was stabbed Tuesday in a bathroom at Northeast Middle School. Police spokeswoman Donna Drake says the two students had some type of confrontation but the motive for the stabbing is still being investigated. The school teaches seventh and eighth grade students. After closing on Tuesday, the classes resumed Wednesday.
