Hospital security guard kills suspect at St. Louis hospital
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say a security guard at a St. Louis children’s hospital is in critical condition after he shot and killed a suspect in the hospital’s parking lot. The shooting occurred early Wednesday at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Police said the guard was investigating a car in the parking lot when the driver hit him. The guard fired several shots at the car, which crashed. The driver attempted to flee but was found two blocks away suffering from a gunshot wound. He died later at the hospital. The guard was hospitalized in critical condition. A woman in the suspect’s vehicle was taken into custody. No names have been released.
