Man running across Interstate 55 in St. Louis hit, killed

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police say a man who was running across busy lanes of Interstate 55 in south St. Louis died after being hit by a vehicle. Police say the incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday in the northbound lanes of I-55 in the city’s Carondelet neighborhood. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash closed the northbound lanes for several hours as investigators reconstructed the accident. The man’s name was not immediately released, and police offered no details about why he was in the busy roadway.
