Patrol says pedestrian on I-470 in Lee’s Summit fatally hit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a person who was walking along the westbound lanes of Interstate 470 in Lee’s Summit died after being hit by a vehicle. The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say the person was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released, and the patrol did not immediately give any other details of the fatal crash.
