St. Louis mayor orders all city employees to be vaccinated

KMIZ

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (AP) — St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones is ordering city employees to be vaccinated or to get weekly COVID-19 testing. Jones said in a statement Wednesday that the requirement will help keep the area’s hospitals running, protect children and save lives. About 6,000 employees will be required to get the vaccine by Oct. 15 or undergo weekly testing. Also Wednesday, attorneys for St. Louis County and the Missouri attorney general’s office told a judge they are deadlocked in negotiations over a mask mandate in the county. Circuit Judge Ellen Ribaudo gave the attorneys until 11 a.m. Thursday to come up with a compromise.
