Tracking a quiet Saturday night and Sunday before storm chances Sunday night and Monday

TONIGHT: A warm and quiet evening lies ahead, with sunset still visible through some high, thin cloud cover. Temperatures fall into the 50s early Sunday morning. Some isolated showers are possible overnight.

TOMORROW: Sunday is largely dry and quiet, with storms possible late in the evening. Highs are forecast in the 70s under partly to mostly cloudy skies with winds from the south. Sunday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day as storms move in around sunset, bringing isolated chances for large hail and damaging wind in the west. It may be wise to park the car in the garage on Sunday night, but the overall severe risk is low.

EXTENDED: Monday is also an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, as the warm front that brings storms Sunday night moves north of mid-Missouri. This will bring the window for severe weather more squarely overhead by late morning on Monday. Storms are expected to develop in mid-Missouri in the early afternoon on Monday, with all severe threats possible. Highs are expected near 80. For more information, read our ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day Blog. More chances of rain are expected next week, with highs in the 60s.
