Silver Advisory canceled after man found safe

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man reported missing from Columbia has been reported safe and with his family.

The Columbia Police Department issued an advisory Monday morning for Philip Walter McWhorter, 75, after last seen around 11 p.m.

The department posted around 8:20 a.m. on Monday, saying McWhorter, who suffers from dementia, had been found.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said he was back with family in the canceled alert.

Police received assistance from the Boone County Sheriff's Office and the public, according to a Facebook post.
