Man charged in Audrain County after crashing truck during chase, wandering woods for hours

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A man was charged on Tuesday after he allegedly led Audrain County deputies on a chase on Monday night.
Joshua Julius, 37, of Labadie, was charged with aggravated fleeing and four misdemeanors: Driving while revoked, reckless driving, failing to drive on the right half of the road and animal neglect. He is being held at the Audrain County Jail. A court date has not been set.
According to the probable cause statement, law enforcement received a call about a suspicious Ford F-150 at 9:42 p.m. near Route ZZ and County Road 353. Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop and a chase began, the statement says.
Julius eventually crashed his truck near the intersection of Route MM and Route J, but was not immediately found after the crash, the statement says.
Deputies found a recent receipt with Julius’ name on it in the truck, a cellphone that had his personal information and eventually found a dog that was seen in photos with Julius, the statement says. The truck had different license plate numbers on the front and back, the statement says.
Law enforcement received a phone call about a suspicious person walking on Route KK at 5:32 a.m. Tuesday, about four miles away from the crash site, the statement says.
Deputies found Julius, who allegedly said he was wandering around the woods all night and was looking for his truck and dog, the statement says. Deputies also observed a number of injuries on Julius.
