Edgar Springs teenager injured in Phelps County crash

A 17-year-old was hospitalized after crashing his motorcycle in Phelps County Saturday morning.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the teenager was riding a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle on Highway 63, about 15 miles south of Rolla at 11:47 a.m. His motorcycle hit a deer, and he was thrown from the vehicle.

He was taken to Phelps Health Hospital with serious injuries.

He was using safety equipment during the time of the crash, the report says.
