Police block off central Columbia road during late night investigation

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) -

Columbia police officers blocked off a road in the central part of the city while they investigated on New Year's Eve.

An ABC 17 News reporter on the scene counted about ten Columbia Police Department cars around the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue near Worley Street just after 11 p.m. Police blocked off Worley Street from Woodlawn Ave. to Providence Road.

A reporter could see officers searching at least one car and one backpack.

The scene was cleared before midnight.
