Sedalia teen killed in Pettis County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 17-year-old Sedalia teen was killed Saturday morning on Smasal Road in Pettis County, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, the teen was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado when he traveled off the road and hit a creek embankment around 10:55 a.m.

The teen was pronounced dead on scene.

A 18-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The report states neither person was wearing a seatbelt. The Silverado was totaled.
