Columbia Fire Department responds to house fire in central Columbia Friday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Fire Department responded to a house fire on 1000 block of Crestland Avenue on Friday morning.

Capt. Mark Jenkins with the Columbia Fire Department told ABC 17 News crews on scene that crews are unsure if anyone was in the home at the time of the fire.

CFD responded at 3:42 a.m. for calls of heavy fire coming from the single-story home and said they were able to put the fire out in about 20 minutes.

Jenkins said when about 24 firefighters arrived the home was 60% engulfed in flames, however the home is completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters cleared the scene just before 9 a.m.
