WWU President Jeremy Moreland gets contract extension
FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Board of Trustees at William Woods University approved a contract extension for President Jeremy Moreland through 2030, according to a Monday press release from the university.
Moreland began at WWU in 2021.
“I am honored to earn the continued confidence of our esteemed board of trustees, and am thrilled to continue leading this outstanding university,” Moreland said in the release. “When you add up all of our attributes, including talented students, quality academics, a beautiful campus, continued innovation, and dedicated faculty and staff, you can’t help but conclude that the very best days of The Woods are still ahead of us. I am humbled by the responsibility placed in me to help get us there.”
According to the release, WWU had its largest incoming class last fall at 456 students and is expected to eclipse that number again this upcoming school year. Sine 2021, the university has: Added a new Center for Equine Medicine, reconstructed a bridge over Senior Lake, added a pedestrian trail and an equestrian trail, refreshed basketball facilities, improved online streaming for athletic events and is in building a new multi-sport athletic field, the release says.
William Woods also created its first doctoral program in 2023 and added seven new undergraduate degree programs. The school also announced the introduction of its football and marching, pep and concert band programs, which will launch later this year.
