Columbia residential curbside recycling resumes Monday
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Solid Waste Utility is set to resume residential curbside recycling collections on Monday after services were suspended for almost 10 months due to staffing shortages.
According to the City of Columbia's website, recycling collections will operate on an every-other-week basis. Collection routes are still the same as when the service was previously provided.
On alternating weeks, residents using the service can put mixed containers and mixed fibers curbside on your regularly scheduled refuse pickup day. Mixed containers should be placed in blue recycling bags and mixed fibers should be bundled in a box or paper bag.
Recycling cannot be placed in refuse roll carts.
Customers who have an email on file with the Utilities Customer Service Department either will or should have received emails with information on how to access the interactive collection map, according to the city. That will confirm Columbia resident's collection schedules.
Customers can also download the CoMo Recycle and Trash app for any updates or notifications of the service.
The restarting of residential recycling follows after the resumption of the residential roll cart refuse collection service started on March 4.
