Montgomery Fire Department responds to structure fire Friday morning

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Montgomery Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire Friday morning before 5 am.

The fire department says the fire happened at 629 N Walker Street. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found a middle apartment building that was fully engulfed, with fire spreading to the South end.

The department noted that they were able to quickly put out the fire that had spread to the South side, as well as a smaller fire that had spread to the North unit.

A pick-up truck parked in the front of the fire also caught fire, but crews were able to put it out as well.

It is not clear if anyone was inside of the apartments during the time of the fire, or what caused the fire.
