Columbia Police and STAARR to hold meetings discussing crime trends in the community

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

On Monday, CPD will host the first of two meetings to discuss crime trends and safety issues at 6 p.m. in the community room at the Molly Bowden Neighborhood Policing Center.

Police will be speaking to residents of the North District of Columbia and members from CPD's patrol and Criminal Investigation Bureaus will be sharing information specific to crime trends in the northern part of the city. Residents are encouraged to ask questions about the information and share any safety concerns they may have with their community.

Also on Monday, the organization Stronger Together Aspiring and Achieving Relevant Relationships is holding an open town hall to discuss community members needs. The town hall will be followed by a discussion about community violence.

STAAR's meeting is being hosted by Ward 3 Councilman Roy Lovelady, and STAARR members D'Markus Thomas-Brown and Renee Carter.

This meeting will be held at 17 North Fourth St. at 6 p.m.
