Silver advisory canceled after missing Jefferson City woman found safe
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
UPDATE: The highway patrol has canceled its advisory after Jo Ann Stephens, 63, was found safe.
ORIGINAL: Jefferson City police said Wednesday that they don't believe a missing, elderly woman is in danger but they don't know where she is.
Late Tuesday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an endangered silver advisory for 63-year-old Jo Ann Stephens.
Stephens was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Stephens told the staff at her residential care facility in the 1800 block of Crader Dr. in Jefferson City, she was headed to a gas station and McDonald's, according to that alert.
Staff said she missed her medication window and could be experiencing seizures. Stephens is diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and a seizure disorder. She is described as being:
- 5 ft. 4 inches
- 157 lbs
- blonde hair
- blue eyes
- fair complexion
- wearing blue cable knit sweater, pink camisole, blue jeans
However, Jefferson City police said late Wednesday morning that investigators "no longer believe she is in imminent danger," though they do not know where she is.
