Tracking below freezing overnight lows with a warmer weekend

Today: Afternoon highs linger into the mid-30s as slushy roads remain across the southern half of Central Missouri. Winds remain out of the northwest at 10-15 mph with gust up to 30 mph possible.

Tonight: Temperatures cool to the mid-20s leading to worries of a refreeze for any slush on the roadways or sitting water. Winds remain out of the northwest with partly cloudy skies.

Extended: Friday sees similar highs as Thursday back into the mid-30s with partly cloudy skies. A warming trend develops Saturday into next Monday as winds switch back out of the southwest. Mostly sunny skies remain with us this weekend until Sunday night where chances for showers pull in from the west becoming widespread by Monday morning with the possibility for some thunder.
