ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Ashland Police Department reports a missing teenager has been found safe.

Police provided the update about 15-year-old Emilee Dubes on Facebook early Friday morning. Police Chief Gabe Edwards said Dubes returned home to her family on Friday around 1 a.m.

No further details about the case were released.

According to APD, Dubes went missing on Dec. 4 after she cut the screen out of her window and ran away from her home. The police department shared an update about the search for Dubes on Tuesday.

Edwards said the case involving Dubes didn't meet the qualifications for an Amber Alert or a missing person advisory. The police chief cited a lack of information about Dubes' whereabouts or whom she was with.

Edwards said Dubes was immediately entered into law enforcement databases after she was reported missing.

A candlelight vigil for Dubes was held on Wednesday night.
