Teen killed after crash Tuesday night in Maries County

MARIES COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Dixon teenager is dead after a crash Tuesday night in Maries County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on Highway N west of Highway 28.

Troopers said an SUV driven by the 17-year-old boy caught on fire after the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. The Maries County deputy coroner pronounced the teen dead at the scene at 12:30 a.m.

According to the highway patrol, the boy was wearing a seat belt.
