WARDSVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)
A new superintendent will soon lead the Blair Oaks R-II School District.
According to a press release, Ben B. Meldrum will start as the superintendent of schools on Saturday, July 1. Currently, Meldrum is the principal at Capital City High School in Jefferson City.
He spent the last 4 years serving in that role. According to Blair Oaks R-II, Meldrum brings more than 20 years of experience.
Meldrum holds a Bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Missouri State University, a Master's degree in technical education administration from the University of Central Missouri, and a specialist of education in administration from William Woods University.
He replaces former superintendent Jim Jones, who retired on June 30 following a 2-month leave of absence. According to a separation agreement, Jones will have limited access to the school district over the next five years.
The Blair Oaks R-II School District plans to hold a meet-a-greet with Meldrum, but details about the event weren't immediately available.
