COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Nebraska man suffered moderate injuries in a crash that closed down Highway 179 in Cole County on Thursday.

Kawa Khudhur, 25, of Lincoln, was hurt when his Freightliner tractor-trailer went off the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. Khudhur got the truck back on the road, but the trailer went on its side into a ditch, pulling the truck onto its side and off the road.

The Missouri Department of Transportation shared on Twitter around 10 a.m. that the highway was closed between Route T and Scott Station Road. The road reopened about an hour and a half later.

The crash didn't involve other vehicles, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Khudhur was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. He was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
