Jefferson City Police Department

11:30 A.M. Update:

Crews have finished repairs to a damaged fiber line that was impacting 911 services in the Centertown area.

A 911 outage is impacting service for some Centertown area residents Thursday morning.

Telecommunications provider BrightSpeed, formerly Lumen, is working to repair a cut fiber cable, according to the Jefferson City Police Department. The outage may impact BrightSpeed, Lumen, and CenturyLink customers.

Police said the issue is preventing some customers from using a landline phone to call 911. The police department advises using a cell phone to call or text 911.

JCPD plans to give an update once repairs are made to the damaged fiber cable.
