COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Firefighters are responding Wednesday morning to a fire at an apartment complex in west Columbia.

Crews dispatched to the Broadway Apartments in the 2900 block of W. Broadway just before 8 a.m., according to Columbia's Fire & Rescue Dispatch website.

An ABC 17 News crew at the scene saw firefighters using a ladder to enter a section of an apartment building with hoses. No smoke or flames were seen coming from the building.

Firefighters said utility crews did shut the power off to one home. ABC 17 News is told no one is hurt but firefighters did find a deceased cat.

At least six Columbia Fire Department trucks responded to the apartment complex. The cause of the fire or how much damage it caused weren't immediately available.
