OSAGE BEACH, Mo. (KMIZ)

Osage Beach Public Works crews are working to make repairs to a damaged sewer line.

The city shared Friday afternoon that workers found a break in a gravity sewer main line to the Sands Lift Station on Wednesday. Crews believe a sinkhole discovered in the area damaged the line.

A spokesperson for the city said the station on Basin Lane is one of Osage Beach's largest lift stations. The city uses the facility to collect and store wastewater from the western portion of Osage Beach.

According to the city, wastewater from the damaged line reached the Lake of the Ozarks. Initial testing of lake water revealed no immediate issues.

Additional testing of the water at the Lake of the Ozarks is possible if the situation changes.

The damaged sewer line is not affecting wastewater services for Osage Beach customers.
