Agencies say outage affecting phone systems in Callaway, Audrain counties

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Public safety agencies in Callaway and Audrain counties said Thursday that a phone and internet outage was affecting their services.

Callaway County Joint Communications said on Facebook a little after 9 a.m. that a Charter/Spectrum outage had taken down administrative phone lines. 911 was still active, the agency said.

The outage was expected to last two to four hours, joint communications said. However, phones were still down shortly before 1 p.m.

The Audrain County Sheriff's Office said phone lines to all county offices were down Thursday and the Callaway County Sheriff's Office also posted a message about the outage.
