CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against a Camdenton man accused of child sex crimes.

Richard S. Bennett, 32, is charged with felony counts of second-degree statutory rape and incest. Camden County deputies arrested Bennett on Tuesday.

Deputies said their investigation into Bennett started after the Camden County Sheriff's Office received a tip in June 2021 about Bennett having a sexual relationship with the minor. In May, the child gave birth to a baby, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said a DNA test revealed Bennett is the father of the baby.

Bennett is being held in the Camden County Detention Facility no bond.
