Judge orders bond investigation for suspect in February Talon Drive shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boone County judge has ordered a bond investigation for a man accused of a February shooting off Talon Drive.

Koda Alshawn Coats was in court Tuesday afternoon for the first time since he was arrested on Friday.

The bond hearing is scheduled for June 8 and he has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 16.

Coats is charged with for first-degree assault, armed criminal action and a federal probation violation warrant.

He is currently being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

According to online court records, Coats does not have a defense attorney listed.
