Columbia Public Schools graduation ceremonies set to continue Saturday
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Graduation festivities are set to continue for Columbia Public Schools seniors on Saturday, as both Rock Bridge and Hickman High School are scheduled to hold ceremonies.
Both graduations will be held at Mizzou Arena, with Rock Bridge's ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. followed by Hickman at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Graduation ceremonies this year do not have any restrictions or regulations relating to COVID-19, according to CPS spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark.
Baumstark added in total, over 1,200 students will receive their diplomas Friday and Saturday.
In addition to those receiving their high school diplomas, 36 CPS scholars will also receive their associates degree through the districts Early College Program. In total, 327 graduating seniors earned a total of 1,578 college credits while attending high school, through dual credit opportunities.
In athletics, 72 graduating seniors have committed to compete at the collegiate level across 24 different sports.
Traffic will most likely be impacted in the areas surrounding Mizzou Arena Saturday, as those not partaking in graduation festivities may want to avoid the area.
