MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Randolph County jury convicted a Kirksville man Wednesday night for his role in a deadly 2020 Mexico, Missouri home invasion.

Jurors found Sadiq Moore, 25, guilty of second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action in the death of 25-year-old Chance Davis.

A judge is expected to sentence Moore in July.

On June 27, 2020, police responded to a home in the 800 block of West Street in Mexico. Officers said a woman told police someone broke into the home and shot Davis.

Emergency crews declared Davis dead at the scene.

Prosecutors have also charged Deyton Curtis-Fisher and Timothy Midgyett with second-degree murder and other crimes in Davis' death.

Court hearings are scheduled in May for both Curtis-Fisher and Midgyett.
