Four people suffer serious injuries Sunday in crashes around Mid-Missouri

Four people suffered serious injuries in crashes Sunday in Miller, Cooper and Camden counties.

The first crash took place at about 2:45 p.m. on Mug Drive in Camden County. Husband and wife Andrew, 38, and Christy Goldstein, 44, of Lebanon, Missouri, went off the road on a Harley-Davidson while going around a curve and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Andrew Goldstein was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries and Christy Goldstein was taken to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance, also with serious injuries. Neither of them was wearing a helmet, according to the patrol.

Caden Littrell, 19, was injured in Miller County when his ATV hit an embankment and overturned while Littrell was attempting a jump, the patrol reported. The crash happened a little before 6 p.m. on private property near the Ozark Trail, according to the report. Littell, who wasn't wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional.

A Marshall, Missouri, woman was injured in a UTV crash in Cooper County about an hour later. Caitlyn Slaughter, 21, was hurt when the UTV she was riding in went off a road, hit multiple trees and overturned, the patrol reported. She was taken by ambulance to Bothwell hospital with serious injuries.

The patrol said Slaughter wasn't using a safety device, though it wasn't clear from the report whether that refers to a helmet or seatbelt.
