Mizzou WBB misses out on NCAA Tournament; automatic qualifier for WNIT

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team was not selected to this year's NCAA Tournament. The Tigers have now missed the big dance the last three seasons.

MU will still play in the postseason. Head coach Robin Pingeton's group accepted a bid to the WNIT for the second-straight season on Sunday night. The Tigers were an automatic qualifier for the tournament.

Mizzou will learn its opening round matchup on Monday at 1 p.m. Last season - the team went winless in the WNIT, falling to both Fresno State and Arizona State.

MU finished the season 18-12 overall and 7-9 in the SEC. The Tigers haven't played since losing to Arkansas in overtime in the SEC Tournament on March 3.
