Highway patrol confirms pedestrian killed on eastbound I-70 at Kingdom City

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed a pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 70 at Kingdom City.

According to a tweet from the highway patrol at 6 a.m., troopers responded to the crash in the eastbound lanes near the 148-mile marker.

Troopers said the crash involved at least one vehicle. Details about how the pedestrian was hit weren't immediately available.

Eastbound I-70 was closed for about two hours while troopers investigated the crash. Crews reopened the lanes of traffic around 7:15 a.m.

The highway patrol expects to release more details about what happened in its crash report.
