Ameren Missouri crews restore power to Mid-Missouri customers

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

7:40 a.m. Update:

Ameren Missouri crews have restored the power to thousands of customers on Friday morning.

More than a dozen outages reported between 4:07 to 4:09 a.m. left about 10,740 customers without power.

The utility provider told ABC 17 News on Friday morning an equipment malfunction in Moberly caused the power outages.

6:55 a.m. Update:

The number of Ameren Missouri customers still without power increased to 680 customers.

According to the company's outage map, crews are working to restore six outages near Huntsville, Clark, and east of the Moberly area.

The outages left more than 10,740 Ameren Missouri customers without power earlier on Friday morning.

6:30 a.m. Update:

Ameren Missouri crews have restored power to nearly all of its customers left without power Friday morning.

The utility provider's outage map shows only seven customers are still without power. That number is down from more than 10,740 customers first reported between 4:07 to 4:09 a.m.

Three school districts in Randolph County called off classes for Friday due to the power outages.

6:25 a.m. Update:

The Northeast R-IV School District in Cairo has canceled classes for Friday.

According to the school district's website, classes were canceled due to the power outage impacting parts of Mid-Missouri.

Ameren Missouri crews are still working Friday morning to restore power to about 2,170 customers.

Customers can check the utility provider's power outage map for updates.

6:15 a.m. Update:

The number of Ameren Missouri customers without power is decreasing Friday morning.

According to the company's power outage map, crews are working to restore 10 outages. Around 6,800 customers are still in the dark.

That's down from the 10,747 customers first reported without power between 4:07 to 4:09 a.m.

Ameren Missouri says an equipment malfunction in Moberly caused more than a dozen power outages.

According to the utility provider's outage map, the outages were reported between 4:07 to 4:09 a.m. The power outages left more than 10,740 customers without electricity.

The Higbee R-VIII and Westran School District both canceled classes for Friday due to the outages.

According to Ameren Missouri's outage map, the impacted cities include Clark, Higbee, Moberly, Huntsville, and Madison.

Ameren Missouri reported crews are on-site and are working to restore the power.
