Mizzou’s Aijha Blackwell earns SEC Co-Player of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou women's basketball standout Aijha Blackwell is the SEC Co-Player of the Week. The League announced its weekly honors on Tuesday.

Blackwell scored a game-high 27 points and 13 rebounds in the Tigers loss to No. 13 Georgia on Monday night. The St. Louis native also had 26 points and 17 rebounds against No. 11 LSU this past Thursday.

Blackwell has now had a double-double in seven straight games. She has 13 on the season, which is tied for the top mark in the nation. Blackwell is the country's top rebounder, averaging 13.1 boards per contest.

This is Blackwell's second SEC Player of the Week honor and third of her career.

Mizzou is 13-5 overall and 2-3 in the SEC. Up next - the Tigers will play at Vanderbilt on Thursday at 7 p.m.
