Former Rock Bridge running back transfers to Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Rock Bridge standout Nate Peat is now a member of the Mizzou football team. The team announced the addition on Tuesday.

Peat transferred back home to Columbia after spending three seasons at Stanford. This past year - Peat ran for 404 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games. He also caught 11 passes for 63 yards. Peat will have two years remaining of eligibility.

Peat is one of eight players to officially transfer to MU on Tuesday. Here are the other seven.

  • DL Tyrone Hopperr
  • DL Jayden Jernigan
  • DB Dreyden Norwood
  • OL Bence Polgar
  • RB Cody Schrader
  • OL Dylan Spencer

MU also announced six freshman have enrolled early this spring.

  • OL Armand Membou
  • WR Mekhi Miller
  • DB Marcus Scot II
  • LB Xavier Simmons
  • TE Max Whisner

Also on Tuesday - Mizzou officially announced the addition of Jacob Peeler as the team's wide receivers coach. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is moving Bush Hamdan over to quarterbacks coach moving forward.

Peeler comes to MU after spending the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Texas State. Before his stint with the Bobcats - Peeler was the wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator at Ole Miss. While in Oxford, he coached current NFL standouts A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf.

In other Mizzou football related news - former MU defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo committed to play for LSU on Tuesday. He will reunite with his former high school football coach at De Smet. Robert Steeples recently joined the Tigers staff as a defensive assistant.

Also on Tuesday - former MU quarterback and safety Shawn Robinson reportedly joined the Kansas State football team.
