Mizzou WBB falls on the road to Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team lost its first SEC game of the season on Sunday. Arkansas beat the Tigers 83-73.

MU trailed by 17 points at halftime, but the Tigers were able to cut the lead to single digits in the second half. Ultimately, MU's comeback came up short. It was the Razorbacks' first conference win of the season as they improved to 11-6 overall and 1-2 in SEC play.

Hayley Frank led the Tigers with 22 points. Mama Dembele finished with a career-high 16 points. Aijha Blackwell had 11 points and a team-high 14 rebounds.

Arkansas forced 13 Tiger turnovers on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks turned it over only twice - which was a new program record.

MU is now 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the SEC. Up next - the Tigers will play at LSU on Thursday at 7 p.m.
