Fire Marshal determines cause of house fire was accidental
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
UPDATE: On Sunday morning the Columbia Fire Department released more information about the Friday night house fire.
The department says the fire originated on the back patio of the home and the cause was accidental. The release states the damage to the house is estimated at $80,000.
Ten units from CFD responded to the fire and it was put out in approximately seven minutes.
Original Story: The Columbia Fire Marshal's Division is investigating a late night house fire in Columbia on Friday.
ABC 17 News Crews on scene spoke with the Columbia Fire Department who responded to a house fire on the 5200 block Lookout Peak Drive around 11:15 p.m.
CFD said the house fire was under control in several minutes and everyone made it out of the house safely.
The department said there was extensive damage to the inside of the house but no injuries from the fire were reported.
