JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One woman is dead and a man is left with minor injuries after a vehicle crash on the 2100 block of Route C early Saturday morning.

Kristinia Pont, 30 of Jefferson City, was killed after hitting a semi-truck and trailer just after 1 a.m.

Pont was driving eastbound on Route C and 52-year-old Lee Hardin was traveling westbound when the two collided.

According to evidence at the scene of the crash, Pont drove into the Idlewood Rd./Vieth Dr. intersection and after going through the intersection, the vehicle crossed into the designated left turn lane for westbound traffic on Route C to southbound Idlewood Rd.

During that time, Hardin was also moving from the westbound driving lane of Route C into the designated left turn lane to southbound Idlewood Rd. Pont's vehicle then struck the front of the semi-truck and trailer with its front.

Police said Pont was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Hardin was reported wearing a seat belt, and EMS took him to a hospital for minor injuries.

The Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.
