Columbia attorney to run for Boone County Circuit judge for family court
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia attorney announced her candidacy for Boone County associate circuit court judge for Division X.
If elected, Kayla Jackson-Williams would be the first black judge in the county.
Jackson-Williams says she is running because she believes her diverse background and legal experiences will offer a unique perspective.
Judge Leslie Schneider, the current Division 10 judge, was last elected in 2018.
The election for judges will be part of next year's general election on Nov. 8.
Kayla Jackson-Williams will run as a Democrat.
