No arrests have been made following multiple subjects found wounded in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police in Jefferson City are still searching for a suspect after finding multiple individuals wounded late Saturday night.

At approximately 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 200 block of Commercial Way to investigate a weapons offense.

The Jefferson City Communications center began receiving calls reporting a disturbance involving multiple subjects and the use of firearms.

Officers arrived to a large group of subjects including several covered in blood. One subject fled into a local business to avoid being contacted by officers.

Officers located a 20-year old male laying in the roadway suffering from multiple stab wounds. The individual was unable to describe the attacker and was transported for medical attention. His condition is unknown as of 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers located the initial blood covered subject inside the business and although he suffered several obvious injuries, he declined medical treatment.

When questioned about his injuries he disputed being in a fight and advised he had “fallen down the stairs."

Officers located a third subject suffering from a laceration to his head. That subject also declined medical attention and was uncooperative with on scene investigators.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
