The UM Board of Curators is set to meet on Zoom at 4 p.m. on Monday, to discuss the system's current mask policy.

The current policy laid out on the university's website, has been in place since Aug. 2.

The policy states, "All students, faculty, staff and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear masks in classrooms, as well as meeting spaces where social distancing is not possible."

Exceptions to the policy include:

  • When alone in a workspace
  • When a workspace has six feet of distance between other employees
  • While eating or drinking and six feet away from employees
  • When with a 'stable group' such as roommates or coworkers

This comes as Mizzou reports 43 active student cases according to its website.

Since Aug 22., 116 student cases have been reported at the university with 36 cases being reported among staff members.

In Boone County, there are currently 660 cases with 23 people hospitalized with the virus.

The five day average in Boone County sits at 47 cases, with hospitals in the county reporting 22 patients in the ICU and an additional 8 people on ventilators.
