No injuries from early morning house fire in Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Fire Department reported no injuries from an early morning house fire in Columbia on Tuesday.
The department responded to multiple calls on the 3000 block of Green Ridge Road around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, for reports of a house fire.
Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief One Eric Caszett told ABC 17 News Crews on scene the fire started on the deck area of the house and spread to the kitchen.
"The first company arrived and reported heavy fire on the outside of the house and deck area," Caszett said. "[We had a] full box assignment which is about six trucks for the Columbia Fire Department."
Firefighters were able to contain the fire in about 10 minutes after arriving on scene.
One woman and her dog were able to safely get out of the residence without being harmed in the fire.
The fire marshal is currently investigating what caused the house fire to start.
