Tracking dangerous heat this week

Today: Temperatures continue to climb into the mid-'90s topping out at 95. We will continue to see southwesterly winds throughout the rest of the day at 5-10 mph. A small chance of scattered, short-lived storms are possible from 2-5 PM this afternoon, but most storms will remain east of highway 63.

Tonight: Temperatures continue to stay well above average with an overnight low of 74 degrees with mostly clear skies. We will still feel the effects of the high dewpoints overnight with plenty of humidity.

Extended: Temperatures continue to ride out in the mid-'90s through Thursday as Central Missouri counties sit in a Heat Advisory until Thursday at 9 PM. We will continue to see the heat index surpass just over 100 degrees for the next three days. We will see small chances of scattered storms beginning Thursday with the highest chances of storms on Sunday as a low-pressure system moves in from our east. Temperatures continue to stay in the lower '90s from Thursday until Sunday.
