Columbia man charged after domestic assault after Friday night incident

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man is charged with first-degree domestic assault after an incident Friday night on the 120 block of Benton St.

According to a probable cause statement, the assault occurred after the victim threw a glass at Travis Groce.

Groce allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, then hit her head several times and then stomped on her head according to court documents.

Police were first notified after the woman was taken to a local emergency room.

Groce was arriagned earlier Monday.
