Two minors suffer serious injuries after truck overturns on I-70 in Callaway Co.

Two minors suffered serious injuries after the truck they were driving, overturned on I-70 in Callaway County.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The 17-year-old driver from Waynesburg, Pa was driving westbound on I-70 near mile marker 144 when the truck he was driving went off the left side of the road. The minor then overcorrected when he tried to bring the truck back onto the road which caused the 2015 Toyota Tacoma to overturn.

Both the 17-year-old driver and passenger suffered serious injuries in the crash and were taken to University Hospital by EMS.

The 17-year-old male driver was not wearing a seatbelt while the 17-year-old female passenger was wearing one at the time of the crash.

According to the report, the Tacoma was totaled in the accident.
