SATURDAY UPDATES: Missouri’s positivity rate trending upward

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported the state's positivity rate as 4.6% on Sunday.

That is still in the green level for the state, but the rate of change in the past seven days is 0.3%, which is now in the orange level.

In the past 7 days, 1,666 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Missouri. The total now stands as 513,171 throughout the pandemic.

943 probable cases were found in the past seven days through antigen testing. That total now stands at 88,848.

Missouri's death toll is now at 9,140. Seven deaths were reported in the past 7 days.

In the state's healthcare system, 722 people dealing with COVID-19 infections. Of those 156 are in the ICU and 91 are on ventilators.

As far as vaccine distribution, 42.2% of the state's population have at least one shot of the coronavirus vaccine, which is 2,587,912 Missourians.

Of those, 2,158,818 are fully vaccinated, which is about 35.2%.

52.5% of the state's adult population have started the vaccination process.

In total, 4,594,797 doses of the vaccine have been put into the arms of residents in the Show-Me State. In the past 7 days, the average daily doses given was 8,929.
