New judge to take over 2017 homicide case
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A new judge will take over a case against a Columbia man accused in a 2017 killing.
28-year-old Jeffrey McWilliams is charged with second-degree murder, robbery and armed criminal action in the death of Augustus Roberts.
Roberts died at a home off Lasso Circle in December 2017.
Judge Josh Devine will now preside over the case.
A hearing is set for Monday after McWilliams' attorney asked for GPS data used to implicate him in the case.
The defense argues McWilliams was at work at McLanks off Paris Road on the night of the killing.
McWilliams is currently being held in Boone County Jail without bond.
