SATURDAY UPDATES: Missouri’s positivity rate increases
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 292 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, pushing the total to 511,260 cases throughout the pandemic.
In addition, 167 new probable cases were reported through antigen testing. That total now sits at 87,876.
The state subtracted one death from its total today, now that state is reporting 9,080 people have died from COVID-19. ABC17 News has reached out to inquire about the subtracted death.
The state's 7-day positivity rate went up 0.2% percent to 4.2% on Saturday.
In the state's healthcare system, 679 people are currently fighting COVID-19 infection in hospitals. 147 of those are in the ICU and 92 are on ventilators.
As far as vaccinations, 41.6% of the state's population has received at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is 2,553,612 people. Of those, 34.5% are finished, which is 2,119,947 people.
52% of Missouri's adult population has started the vaccination process.
In total, 4,525,419 doses of the vaccine have been given out in the Show-Me State.
