COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia native Taylor Drennan will be recommended next week to the Columbia Board of Education to become the next principal at John Warner Middle School.

Drennan has been serving as the school’s interim principal this semester after CPS reported that Principal Jimmy Hale was out for the remainder of the year in mid-March.

Drennan has worked for Columbia Public Schools his entire career.

“I feel so fortunate to have been given this opportunity to continue to serve the students, families and staff at John Warner Middle School,” Drennan said. “I love this school and this community and I look forward to building upon the foundation that we’ve created so far.”

Drennan received his bachelor’s degree in education from Central Methodist University and has his master’s degree in education technology and an educational specialist degree in administration from William Woods University.
